T2 Domus - Final Presentation Images

Domus Project - INSPIRATIONS (ARCHITECTS)

As we worked on our sketches, thumbnails and developing our roof, we studied some architects works. Glen Murcott was a fantastic example, as the majority of his works are in Australia, and in the same climate or similar as our Bells Beach Victorian site.

The Magney House in Bingle Pt, Moruya on the New South Wales South Coast (1982 - 84).

This house had particular significance due to it's location from the coast, and the design for gathering the most northern sunlight. It is stretching across a barren, wind-swept site overlooking the ocean. Another particular element is the roof design - long and low and from corrugated metal sheathing.

Louvre blinds at the windows help regulate the light and temperature.
Other works that we looked into was the Marika - Alderton House, Yirrkala Community (1991 - 94) which was in a similar setting to our Domus site. We particularly looked into the solar panels and corrugated roof design.

Tablinum Project

Here are the drawings and work from the Tablinum project. I opted for a simple, relocatable, demountable construction with emphasis on ease of fixing. I found that the simpleness of the rectangle to be an effective space-saving way of defining this space.
I was searching through the posts and realised I forgot to put up my TABLINUM. so here it is:

DOMUS

these images really seem to spark my imagination especially the trees, however the leaf stem which spurrs accross one baorder to another with dropplets of water on it.. appeals to my mind as a bridge or something similar wich spurrs accross a gap and the dropplets are somehow holding it up..
but what are your ideas?? or what do you see when you look at these images
